Troubleshooting and Known Bugs
Browser extensions
The browser extension is not redirecting.
It is possible that your Tab for a Cause add-on is conflicting with another add-on. If one of your other extensions manipulates browser tabs, you may have to uninstall it. Please contact us if you discover that our extension conflicts with other add-ons.
If you use Google Toolbar in Mozilla Firefox, you must disable Google toolbar's "new tab" feature. To make Google Toolbar compatible, click on the Google logo on the left side of the toolbar and select "Options." Then, uncheck the "enable the Google new tab page." (Note: With Google Chrome, it is possible to use Tab for a Cause and Google Toolbar's new tab feature simultaneously.)
Make sure you are running the most recent version of both your browser and the extension. If uncertain, uninstall your current version and reinstall the extension from our website.
Instructions to uninstall the browser extension
If using Chrome, click on the wrench next to the address bar, then select "Tools >> Extensions." Once on the Extensions page, click "uninstall" located beneath the Tab for a Cause extension.
If using Firefox, select "Tools >> Add-ons >> Extensions tab (on the left)." Then select "Remove" on the far right side of the Tab for a Cause extension.
Web page
No ads are displayed.
You may be using Adblock, in which case you should allow an exception for Tab for a Cause. If you never see a "Your Ad Here" tag on the web pages, an ad-blocking software is likely the cause of the problem.
To add an exception to Adblock, navigate to the Adblock Plus options page and add "www.tabforacause.org" to your list of accepted sites. For more information on how to add exceptions to Adblock, visit Adblock Plus's FAQ.
Occasionally, our ad space goes unfilled, and no ad will be displayed-- this is normal.
Alternatively, it is possible that Tab for a Cause currently does not have advertisers for your region or country, as our advertisements are targeted to your geographic region. This problem is most common for users in South America and parts of Europe and Asia.
Known bugs
- The Firefox Tab for a Cause browser extension may occasionally redirect tabs that are not "fresh;" that is, new tabs that were opened by clicking a link. We are investigating what links cause this issue.
